opps - brain hiccup.
It was 1991 when I was there.
98-03 I was travelling to Cozumel, Mexico for scuba diving.
I do love the warmth.
All my life I have ventured into Death Valley. Since 1999 I have been 4 wheeling and able to see more and more of Panamint Valley.
While I love the tropics, the desert always calls me. My true love? Maybe.

I rented a car and drove around the entire island of Jamaica in 1991. Also spent part of a day at Cozumel, spent the other part at Playa Del Carmen on the mainland and exploring the pyramids. Was also at Cayman Islands. However, they seemed like I was walking the streets of LA but with more palm trees and different money. Mystery Guest Poster,
Yeah, this post got me thinking. If I were to win a free vacation to somewhere, I'd probably say- give me the money and let me go out to the places I'm already going to- the desert. I haven't been everywhere, but I've been to some countries in Europe, South and Central America, Hawaii, Alaska etc. and all over the lower 48. So.... the answer is "a southwest desert".
