I recently discovered this site and just wanted to drop into the forum and say hello.
6 or so years ago a friend and I visited Panamint City on foot, arriving just at sunset and startling a couple of explorers who had beat us to the cabin with a knock on the door. We cooked up a big meal, checked out the chimney with flashlights (my turn to be startled by some kind of wild-looking bird up in the thing) and stayed awake telling stories and listening to the wind howl.
My friend recently called after a long absence and mentioned Panamint City and I'm thinking it may be about time...
Best, Jerry

Hi Jerry and welcome too.
I wouldn't mind hiking up there myself but I'd probably need a "like" partner such as David Bricker who just mentioned this hike on a different thread. We could rest every 50 feet.
Anyways, 'Been thinking about it for years. - Doug

My son, his friend and I are going to try another assault to Panamint City in November, just before Thanksgiving. My son wants this to just be us, but I expect others could join without a big problem. Panamint Charlie is the real expert on Panamint City.
We are planning on three nights at PC in November. Of course, with a heavy early snow, that plan may change.
And yes, rest stops every 50 feet are in order with me for much of the trail.

I wish I could go David, but it's too soon after the "Haul". I'd still like to do it before I die though.
I also need to get in better shape first. - Too much
and not enough excercise! Doug
