New mojave native...

Hey everyone! Just joined the forum after a backpacking trip with my friends up to Brigg's. The lower cabin was occupied by a guy, who told me about this site. He was driving an awesome looking blue FJ Cruiser, so, thanks guy! We had to furnish the old processing mill between the two cabins for a place to stay because both cabins were occupied that weekend, so if you're in need of a place to lay your head, when both cabins are flagged, we've made a nice flat surface for sleeping bags in the interior of the "middle cabin" I've been coming up to the Panamints for around 10 years now. Normally went up with my dad in his FJ-40 or his 80 series Landcruisers. After my parents moved out to the east coast, I started having withdrawals so I just bought a '94 Toyota Landcruiser a month ago and have already made two trips up. I can't wait to chronicle the stories with everyone, and if you see a sahara white Landcruiser up there, don't be afraid to introduce yourself!

An awesome looking Blue FJ Cruiser, eh? Sounds like someone suspicious. 8)

Welcome to our little corner of the web. I think you'll find this a friendly group, who enjoy talking about about shared love of the desert. We avoid the political and religious discussions, since there are plenty of other places on the web to discuss that sort of thing. Take a few minutes to read the Forum guidelines in this topic.

We look forward to hearing of your travels! Briggs is indeed a nice place.

Thanks for the welcome! I'll surely keep everyone informed on my planned travels. Here's a pick I snapped on our last trip up...Image

If you were to whip out a microscope on the full resolution print, you would be able to see, in the bottom center of the photograph, Brigg's camp. We did a major hike to get to this spot, but the view was completely worth the effort! Whitney was visible from there as well. (at the top of the horizon line about 3 quarters of the way across the photo)
