A yankee

Post by Morrie »

Well, not really. I grew up in Chicago, but I've been a Massachusetts resident since 1971, so I have no accent.

I've been spending much of my vacation time in Death Valley, a week at a crack, for the last 10 years, and this year I'll even go twice. I've driven up, hiked and camped on most of the side roads in the canyons and hills off Panamint Valley, inside and outside DVNP.

But the longer hikes, like Panamint City, have always seemed out of reach. Maybe someday, if I get out there in cooler weather.

Welcome! Yet another easterner that is crazy enough to go once, twice, well OK, 8 times to DV in a year!

Hope you get to Panamint City one of these times. It is indeed worth it. Also hope you enjoy the board here. We're a friendly bunch. Be sure to read the forum guidelines, and we look forward to you sharing some of your trip reports with us.
