KG6ZJL... I'm new.

Post by kg6zjl »

Howdy Ya'll. I'm new round these parts. I'm from the bay area, but my heart lives along the 395 corridor. I love the eastern sierra's and the high desert. My first trip to Death Valley was in 2003, and I've been trying to go back twice a year ever since.

I drive an '88 Toyota 4Runner which has been converted to a solid front axle and armored by Bent-Up Fab. I'm currently working on equipping it with dual transfer cases and have some 35" BFG M/T's waiting to go on. It's stocked with spare parts, and radio gear. I'm a HAM and death valley is where I learned I needed to equip myself for radio abilities.

Some pre-sas pictures:

Welcome!! Yep, there are a lot of us that are hams on this board. Some of us even use radios as well

Looks like you have a real nice rig. Hopefully, my son won't see the pictures of your rig, and have a whole new project that he'd want to do on his 4Runner.

Be sure to check out the guidelines of the board. We hope to hear from you often, and look forward to hearing about your travels.

Nice. Sounds like you guys try to keep it friendly around here. Good deal. That's how a bunch of people with common interests should act toward each other.

I remember when this was the only guideline and it didn't include the part about being nice or common sense.. LOL..
