Growing up near Apple Valley, we'd drive down US395 (there was no such thing as I-15 in those days) to see here periodically. I remember Escondido as the larger town, but not that big. ...

Re: WHAT'S YOUR 20? See it on the map.

Spent 10 minutes on dial-up waiting for the damn page to load, then I couldn't do anything with my information once I got into that aspect of the site. Clicked and clicked and clicked and nothing. And then I see someone named Matt from San Francisco is my "buddy" ... Who the hell is Matt? The...

Re: Just stopping in to say: why?

I'm not a moderator nor the administrator, but have been a long time member of this forum. I've seen this and have had it happen to myself. This board, as well as all others, get a ton of spammers, bots and malware (human or software). So the administrators occasionally do software updates that look...

Re: Introduction

Also, does anyone know of any places besides Centennial/Lee Flats where their are large Joshuas? First of all, welcome to the board! Second of all, Joshua Flat on the Big Pine-Death Valley road has a dense forest of Joshuas. Although none that I can think of are really big, but still there are many...

Re: How ya doin...........

Greetings Dave, from another Dave. And this Dave was raised in the foothills between Apple Valley and Lucerne Valley (1952-1974) and cut his teeth learning to explore via various motorcycles over every cowpath between there and Big Bear.

Re: Just stopping in to say hi!

David, is your electric auxilliary fan working? Graham C., the guy driving the silver Tacoma like mine last year on the Hunter Mountain/Lippincott tour, has a similar problem with his '91 XJ. He doesn't drive it off road at all, it stays cool enough on the road, but get it on a trail and the temp ga...

D.A. I'll make a post with my input on on APRS here and the other board. Thank you! I saw your other post over at 4wdtrips.net. There are several here that are also on that board. I think you'll find the two boards very entertaining. By the way, I was born in Victorville, raised in eastern Apple Va...

Welcome, Festus! Your APRS ability caught my eye. Over at 4wdtrips.com a new thread appeared yesterday discussing web tracking ability with some ideas tossed out, including APRS. I bet your input would be welcome with your experience in remote locations using this. I bet it would be of interest here...

LarryW has been occasionally watching the goings on here and saw that his old post was dug up by me. We've shared a couple of emails back and forth and he says to tell his old friends here "HOWDY!"
